About Me
I am a digital reporter based in New York City covering topics, usually with an intersection of inequality, politics, business, education, culture, and public affairs. I graduated from Howard University in May of 2023 with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in African-American Studies. A year later, I graduated from the Columbia Journalism School with my M.S. Some of my professional experience includes as an editorial intern and currently a regular contributing reporter with the New York Amsterdam News, the oldest Black newspaper in New York. My passion for journalism stems from a long-held passion for connecting communities and telling impactful stories about real people. As a student of Africana Studies and American history, I leverage this in my coverage of complex stories of race and politics.
While growing up in Riverdale, The Bronx in New York, I became heavily involved in cultural experiences in Harlem, where my mother's side is from. I interned with the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce and Harlem Week throughout my teen years and have done media projects with them over the years.
At Howard, I served as a News & Politics writer for the oldest Black collegiate newspaper, The Hilltop, in which I reported on stories including voter suppression, police brutality, and the attacks on education programs. I was also selected to participate in the HBCU-Africa Student Corps program at Howard.
In 2022, I interned at the Breaking News Desk with CNBC, gaining experience in creating news blurbs and captions for the website as well as assisting the newsroom editorially and on the production side. I developed team player skills in a fast-paced newsroom.
While an intern with the Amsterdam News, one of my pieces looked at Black street vendors in New York and the unique hurdles they face and won an NNPA award. In September 2025, I achieved my first solo front page cover story with the paper examining the frist of its kind, HBCU Early College Prep High School in Queens. I was then able to appear on Pix 11 to discuss the piece.
At Columbia, my master’s thesis examined the disparities that Black-owned media face in obtaining advertising revenue from corporations despite pledges to increase funding after 2020.
I am active in my family church in Harlem, the Christian Parish for Spiritual Renewal, supproting the social media department.
